Child-Like Faith

My four year old nephew shared a testimony with me just a few days ago. The family had gone out for lunch. After lunch, they decided to visit the bookstore, because there was a discount for students from my nephew’s school. But, when they arrived at the bookstore, they were told that there was a problem (some sort of employee strike).  The bookstore would not open until 3:00PM at the earliest (but likely it would not open for at least a few hours, if at all). It was only 2:20PM at the time.

My sister and brother-in-law decided that since it was uncertain whether the bookstore would open at all, they should just go home. However, my little nephew had a novel idea: Why not pray? :)

My sister did not really think that prayer would change the situation.  But, she told my nephew to pray anyway.  He had said just two words of his prayer when an employee came running from the bookstore to inform them that the store had opened!

The Bible tells us to have child-like faith. Often, adults can’t trust, but children can. They have a blind trust…an immovable faith.

We often forget to pray. Or perhaps, we think that in certain circumstances prayer really will not help. But, our God is a prayer answering God. Remember the best way to reach God is through “knee-mail.” :)
